PDO MONO THREADS
PDO Mono Threads is an innovative skin revitalisation treatment that significantly boosts collagen to achieve a tighter, younger looking skin.
Nonsurgical & TGA approved PDO Mono Threads work by stimulating the growth of collagen & elastin in desired areas mostly across the face & neck. Mono Threads (also known as short threads) are single, smooth & made from polydioxanone (PDO) a common dissolvable suture material.
The Mono Thread procedure consists of introducing multiple very thin threads (via small needle applicators) to create a vectorial network that acts as a support network for the skin tissue. This mono insertion provides an immediate visible tightening effect whilst also creating a tissue response that stimulates important growth factor release & natural collagen production. The new collagen results in skin rejuvenation, skin tightening, skin thickening & a noticeable softening of fine lines, wrinkles, skin crepiness & saggy skin.
Maximum skin tension & improvement can take 3 months & the embedded threads gradually resorb over 3 – 4 months. This leaves behind the new collagen network & subsequent skin rejuvenation for 9 – 12 months.
Treatments take approximately 30 minutes & the treatment area is numbed for your comfort with topical anaesthesia. On average, 20 – 60 Mono Threads are inserted depending on the size of the treatment area. It is also important to note that swelling & bruising can be expected with this procedure as the skin is penetrated multiple times. The bruising may take up to a week to resolve.
Threads are suitable for the following treatment areas:
• Upper & lower cheeks
• Neck, chin & jawline
• Top lip for upper lip lines
• Marionette lines & jowls
• Nasolabial folds
• Decolletage
• Skin laxity on various areas of the body
